Osteoporosis

Woman meeting with her provider to discuss osteoporosis.

According to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, a woman’s risk of breaking a hip due to osteoporosis is equal to her risk of breast, ovarian, and uterine cancer combined. But, how do you know if you should be checked for osteoporosis? Talk to one of our women’s health specialists, Dr. Robert (Bob) Chin, or Dr. James (Jim) DeRossitt. They will ask you about your risk factors, including family history, weight loss, and smoking to name a few.

Dr. Chin or Dr. DeRossitt may determine that you would benefit from a Bone Density Test, where special equipment scans the bones in the lower spine and hip, the most at-risk areas of osteoporotic fractures. It’s a simple, quick, and painless procedure providing results in only a few days.

Call 870-630-9934 for an appointment.
